Cleone Carstensen
Jeff and I met at Country Kitchen too many years ago...he at that point hung out with his friend Jim. I sat down with my friend and we chatted with the two of them for well over an hour and time flew. What always amazed me about him is he made me feel comfortable immediately. He actually was still living with his folks at that time, trying to see his son as often as he could and working in Eldridge at Bawden printing. He loved singing Wild West for Karoake and got me up once or twice to help him out.
Well as life goes, things come to pass and I can say I wish I had stayed in touch but our circumstances keep things we want away and give us what we need. He was there when I needed a nice guy friend and we had fun singing, talking and I even got to help him with computer question once due to the fine training of my husband. It was always nice running into him and saying hello always thinking we need to sit down and have a chat just to see how life had been going for each of us. I'm so glad he found the love that settled him and a family who loved him...reading he got to be a granddad is awesome.
My condolences and many prayers to the family....hope you find the strength to carry on with great memories of Jeff in your heart. I am glad I had the distinct privilege to have been a part of his life when God put him in mine...friends are truly a gift even though our time together as close friends is only bits of sand in the hourglass of our lives. I just wish I had seen this sooner so that I could of paid my respects. Rest in Peace Jeff.
With my deepest sympathies....Cleone Carstensen
