Jeannette A. Klare's Obituary
Jeannette Ann Klare, 90, of Clinton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Alverno on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Clinton. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30am to the service time at the church. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jeannette Ann Kelly was born on November 7, 1933, in Clinton, the daughter of Harold and Winifred (Humphrey) Kelly. She was a 1951 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She met the love of her life, Louis Klare, and they were married on June 6, 1953, enjoying 49 years of happiness. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2002. She also lost her dear son Brent on March 6, 2018.
Through the years, Jeannette was employed by several places as a secretary, and also worked at Northwestern Bell as a telephone operator, Job Corps, and retired from Champion Packaging in 1997 as an assistant to the Graphic Arts Department. For many years after that she was the First Responder at Lyons Manor.
Jeannette was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church, volunteering for church duties, and was a member of the Bingo Group, the Sewing Circle, the Funeral Guild, and helped with the community meals.
Jeannette spent many years doing crafts and loved writing poems. Her family was her greatest joy, and they spent wonderful, happy times together.
Jeannette is survived by her daughters: Debra Klare and Pamela Klare of Clinton, grandson, Jeremey Klare of Clinton; daughter-in-law, Marsha Klare of Clinton; sisters: Rosemary Britt of Tucson, Arizona, Kathleen Kelly of East Moline, Illinois, Barbara Woodard of East Moline, Illinois; sisters-in-law: Lois Schmidt of Warrensburg, Missouri, and Jeanne Lind of Clinton, brother-in-law, John Klare and his wife Rosemary of Portage, Wisconsin, and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband and son she was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Marian Kelly, and a sister, Betty Samuelson.
Memorials can be made to the family or to a favorite charity.
