Jeannette Alice (Buckman) Kennedy, 94, of Clinton, IA, passed away Friday at Fieldstone of DeWitt.
Private burial took place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com.
She was born Jeannette Alice Rathje, the daughter of Marvin and Henrietta Rathje on September 21, 1928, the autumnal equinox. She grew up a farm girl out in the county and rode her pinto pony, Charlie to a one room school house every day. Ever willing to work, to help, to pray and to sing as needed.
Survivors include one son, Dan Buckman, two daughters, Barbara Bark and Penny Kemper; and one brother, Larry Rathje.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Royce Buckman and Merritt (Buzz) Kennedy; brother Merle Rathje and her eldest daughter Connie Heath.
