Jeannette Edens' Obituary
Jeannette Catherine Edens, 92, of Clinton, IA, died Sunday, July 27, 2008at the Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton, IA. Graveside services will be held at Springdale Cemetery on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, July 31, 2008 from 10:00 AM until leaving for the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob, Edens, Jim Doyne, Tom Edens, Jim Edens, Jim Davies and Jim Doyne, Jr.
Jeannette was born May 11, 1916, in rural Clinton, IA, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Sorenson) Thompson. She was a Clinton High School graduate. She married George Frederick Edens August 31, 1935 in Clinton; he died August 22, 2003. Jeannette had been employed as librarian at the Camanche Middle School for 32 years.
Survivors include sons, Robert (Irma) Edens of Lexington, KY; Jim Edens of Camanche, IA and Tom (Kathy) Edens of Rochester, IL; daughter, Joyce (Jim) Doyne of Cedar Rapids, IA; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ruby (Ralph) Allen of Clinton and Marjorie (Bill) Kraft of Fulton, IL. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Memorials may be made to the Camanche Middle School Library.
