Jeanne Nissen's Obituary
Jeanne Nissen, 88, of Clinton, died, Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the Alverno Nursing Home. Graveside Services will be 10:30am, Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Springdale Cemetery. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Dorothy Jeanne Carson was born on January 1, 1920 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Miller) Carson. She married Charles H. Nissen on May 2, 1942 in Clinton; he later died on May 29, 2002. Jeanne was a 1938 graduate of St. Mary’s High School, and also attended the Scovil Business School. During her career she was a secretary for Mutual of New York in Denver, Colorado, Chrisitan Brothers Winery in San Francisco, California, and also McKeon Construction. Jeanne was a member of Prince of Peace Parish. Jeanne is survived by one niece: Barbara Kornada of Middleburg, Florida. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and husband.
