Jeanette L. Paulsen's Obituary
Jeanette Louise Paulsen, 85, of Clinton, Iowa, passed November 21th, 2018.
Jeanette was born to Earl Norman Schnoor, Sr. and Margorite Zella (Koenig) Schnoor, July 11th, 1933 in Davenport, Iowa. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1951, after which, she attended Augustana College in Davenport, Iowa, and later Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in 1955. She then attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois to gain teaching experience. She married Vernon W. H. Paulsen in March, 18th 1962, and they lived together in Clinton, Iowa. Together they raised 1 child.
She leaves as her legacy, 1 child, Steven Paulsen (Nicole Abbott-Paulsen) of Clinton, Iowa, She also leaves to cherish her memory, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Earl Norman Schnoor Sr. and Margorite Zella (Koenig) Schnoor, (Parents), formerly of Davenport, Iowa, and Earl Norman Schnoor Jr., (Brother), formerly of Coos Bay, Oregon.
Jeanette was a 6th grade teacher at Windsor School in Loves Park, Illinois and a Parish Worker at Peace Lutheran Church, in Galion, Ohio. After being married, she moved to Clinton, Iowa and became a substitute teacher. She later went on to become a Regional Coordinator with the TOPS organization (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) for 18 years until she retired. Jeanette was very active in her church, Atonement Lutheran, and later at New Hope and St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Jeanette was fond of traveling and did so every year. Later in life, Jeanette and Vernon spent their summers in Vermont.
Organizations / memberships: past Church Council President, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Superintendent, W.E.L.C.A president, Circle Chairman.
A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, November 27th, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Snell-Zornig Funeral Home, 303 3rd Avenue South, Clinton, Iowa 52732. (563) 242-0252. https://www.snellzornig.com/. Pastor Clark Olsen-Smith will officiate the ceremony.
