Jay C. Leonard, 71, of Clinton passed away Monday, November 24, 2025 at his home.
Memorial Services will be at Journey Church in Clinton, Iowa, on Saturday December 6 beginning with visitation from 9 to 11 am.
Jay Charles Leonard was born August 5, 1954 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Ray and June (Quinn) Leonard. He was a 1973 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and studied electronics at El Paso School of Electronics. He married Debra Lewis on December 21, 1975 in Clinton, Iowa; they would have celebrated their 50th year of marriage this year.
Jay retired from Lyondell where he worked as a Computer Specialist. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed doing yard work, taking on a building project, or just tinkering and fixing things. He loved going south for the winter, camping trips, playing with the dogs and bicycling. More than anything he enjoyed time spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife Deb Leonard of Clinton, twin daughters: Danielle (Will) Schmaltz of Brandon, Wisconsin and Dawn (Chris) Pedeaux of Marshall, Texas; grandchildren: Henry, Anna and Calvin; siblings: Susie Wilden, Tim (Mary) Leonard, Dick Leonard, Ed (Nettie) Leonard, Betty Reed, Larry Leonard, Mary Mallinger, Joe (Anne) Leonard, and Jill (Brian) Lemke; and many nieces and nephews.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bob and Pat, and siblings in law Ray and David.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
