Jared S. Smith, 23, of Camanche, passed away, Thursday, March 11, 2021.
A Service to celebrate Jared’s life will be 4:00pm, Monday, March 15, 2021, at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be from 2:00pm until service time Monday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Flack, Rusty Littlejohn, Erik Franzen, Kyle Gifford, Cody Mensinger, Vance Clark, and Pete Davis. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Brady Rasche. Jared Scott Smith was born on March 25, 1997 in Clinton, the son of Brad and Kimberly (Keiller) Smith. He was a 2016 graduate of Camanche High School, where he participated in track and football.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He adored his best friend; black lab Xena. He was an adventurous, hard worker that had a heart of gold. He enjoyed spending time on the river. His time on Earth may have been short, but he was loved by many.
He is survived by his mother: Kimberly (Trevor) Willis of Camanche, his father: Brad Smith of Clinton; siblings: AudreyAnna (Carl) Alm of Princeton, Iowa, Bree (Nick) Mohr of Ankeny, Iowa, Cassie (Kali) Willis of Clinton; a nephew: Reid Drennen; a niece: Isla Alm; maternal grandmother: Ruth Keiller of Clinton; paternal grandfather: Ronald C. Smith of Camanche; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother: Catherine Jordan Franzen, maternal grandfather: Jay Keiller, maternal grandfather: Paul Willis, paternal grandmother: Maria Coder Smith.
