Janice L. Whitaker's Obituary
Janice Whitaker, 80, passed away at Mercy One, on September 9, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
Janice Walwer was born March 30, 1943, the daughter of Ed and Joyce (Parchen) Walwer. She was a 1961 graduate of Clinton High School. Janice was employed with the old Chicago Northwestern railroad as a clerk. She later cleaned doctor’s offices for Bluff Medical, Woman’s Health as well as others before retiring in 2010.
Janice enjoyed traveling and watching wildlife. She also enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids and her sister. Janice was an avid collector of giraffes and lighthouses. She also enjoyed cooking and baking.
Janice is survived by her daughters, Michael Lynn Carey and Dani Jo (John) Corbin; son, Adam Elrick (Kaecee) Whitaker all of Clinton; grandchildren Joseph (Kassi) Whitaker of Fulton, Alyx Whitaker of Amana, Iowa. Jodee Ball of Clinton and Jazlyn Whitaker of Davenport; sister Nancy (Clyde) Shadle and brother, Dale (Julie) Walwer; her cat Speedbump along with nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents and her longtime companion Ronald Shaw.
