Janice McKee's Obituary
Janice K. McKee, 66, of Clinton and formerly of Freeport, IL, died Friday, September 17, 2010 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Private graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Janice K. Burkholder was born on July 24, 1944 in Miami, FL, the daughter of Donald A. and Ersie D. (Bertsch) Burkholder. She married Richard Fishe in 1965 and later married Lawrence "Mike" McKee on January 12, 1974 in Dakota, IL; he died on June 5, 1993. She was a homemaker and worked in the children's department at Von Maur as a sales representative for 5 years. She is survived by one son: Kevin (Pam) McKee of Clinton and two daughters: Brianna McKee of Chandler, AZ and Tarah (Jesse) Ginter of DeWitt, IA; 3 grandchildren: Taylor McKee, Lauryn Ginter, and William Ginter, and her father Donald Burkholder of Freeport, IL. She was preceded in death by her mother and her husband. Memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Organ Transplant Center.
