Janice J. Kness' Obituary
Janice J. Kness, 77, of Clinton, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024 in Dubuque, Iowa.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:30am, Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30am to the mass time Wednesday at the church. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is serving the family.
Janice Jeanne Dolan was born on January 13, 1947 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Elizabeth (Ingwersen) Dolan. She was a 1965 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and later from Mt. St. Clare in 1981. She married Danny R. Kness on July 19, 1969 in Fulton.
Janice was the finance director for Skyline for 20 years retiring in 2017. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, was on the founding board of L’arche USA and served on the Arch board of directors. She also served on the Clinton Coalition for Disabled Persons receiving the Distinguished Service award in 2011.
Janice loved watching Jeopardy and the Iowa Hawkeyes. She enjoyed taking walks but most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.
Janice is survived by her husband: Danny of Clinton; her daughter: Dawn Kness-Bryan of Jupiter, Florida, her son: Bion Kness of Clinton, and her sister: Kay Vilmont of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials can be made to the Sisters of St. Francis – Clinton.
