Janice "Jan" Witt Ambrose's Obituary
Janice Witt Ambrose, 94, of Lake Suzy, Florida and formerly of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the Bickford of Clinton. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00PM Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Private burial will take place Wednesday at Oakland Cemetery, Clinton.

Jan was born June 1, 1925 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde and Edna (Hill) Kelly. She was a Clinton High School graduate. Jan had been employed at Core-Vens Insurance for many years and had also been employed at Chicago Northwestern Railroad.
Jan was an avid bowler in the Clinton area and loved to play cards.
Jan married Clarence H. Witt April 14, 1945 in Hot Springs, Arkansas; he died September 15, 1995. She later married Joseph Ambrose March 18, 2000 in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Ambrose of Lake Suzy, Florida; son, David (Siena) Witt of Port Charlotte, Florida; daughters, Debbi (Dave) Schoop of Conroe, Texas; Pam Letsch and Patti (Jerry) Naughton both of Clinton, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and brother, Ron (Shirley) Kelly of the Villages, Florida.
In addition to her first husband, Jan was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Witt, grandson, Jeremy Witt, her parents and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bickford of Clinton or to Mercy Hospice.
