James "Scott" Burlingame's Obituary
James “Scott” Burlingame, 67, of Camanche, passed away, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center- North, Clinton.
Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded there will be no visitation or services. The Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
James Scott Burlingame was born on February 21, 1951 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of James P. and Janet (Goodsman) Burlingame. He was a 1969 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Sandra K. Schneider in 1974; she passed away in 2002. He later married Patricia Metzger Behr on September 12, 2008 in Vail, Colorado.
Scott worked for DuPont/Bemis for 42 years. He loved animals, especially feeding the birds and squirrels; living by the river, fishing, playing golf, riding his Harley when he was able and then later years riding around town in his golf cart. He was always interested in airplanes, he built and flew his own weedhopper.
Scott is survived by his wife: Patricia of Camanche; his sisters: Leslie (Tom) Hyde of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Kathleen (Jay) Cherry of Batavia, Illinois; his brothers: Jeffry (Perlita) Burlingame of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Steven Burlingame of Ankeny, Iowa; his step-sons: David (Jill) Behr of Blue Spring, Missouri, Randy (Katie Guthrie) Behr of Clinton, Iowa, and Michael (Kerry) Behr of Aurora, Illinois; step-grandchildren: Keeley and Nathan Behr of Aurora, Illinois, and Emma Behr of Clinton; brothers-in-law: Tom (Wendy) Metzger of Laveen, Arizona, Jim Metzger of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Joe (Mary Jo) Metzger of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and his sister-in-law: Louise (Rick) Laurent of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his first wife.
