I am so sorry I am unable to attend your Dad’s funeral. I am working out of town. I have such fond memories of growing up in our neighborhood. One memory stands out when he made us that big Top Hat for the Riverboat Days parade. we were Phyllis Diller, a rabbit and a magician I think! Your Dad always visited when I would run into him through the years. So sorry for your loss. He was such a kind man!

Mr. Pilgrim was a wonderful neighbor from a few doors down. He put the kids to work a few times as they were growing up. We enjoyed hearing many stores from him. One special one was on a ride to a family Thanksgiving one year. He told us all of how he heard of Pearl Harbor and how fast he pedaled home to tell his folks. The kids listened so closely to him tell about that day. He told us many a good stories. From His Forever home to stories about his family. We will miss him joining in on Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. We always walk him home with a big pate of food for "later" He met another man that was here by the name of Vernon one Thanksgiving several years ago and ever since he met Vernon who has since past on. He calls my husband Vern. We told him so many times his name (Kevin) but Vern was it in his eyes. Mr. Pilgrim We will miss you rest easy neighbor. His family has our sympathy.
Jim and our Dad shared a love of Hopewell artifacts. Jim came to the farm we lived on as children to do a dig. He didn't shoo us away but instead shared his archeological knowledge with us as we watched him work. I'll never forget that. We extend our sympathy to your family.

I have so many fond memories of Jim. When I tell stories of my childhood there are lots of times he is included in those stories. He was always so kind to me when I was a child and I couldn't have asked for a better neighbor growing up. All these years later I would think of him often. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. He was a very special man. RIP Jim.

Your family is in our thoughts and prayers!!! Our dad was in the 12th Armored Division over seas the same time Jim was. Jim represented the 12th Division at my mom's funeral earlier this year. May be rest in peace!
