James Bryden's Obituary
James E. Bryden, 63, of Clinton, passed away, Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at his home.
Memorial Services will be 2:00pm, Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Honorary pallbearers are Rick Kowzic, Matt Kuhnau, Bob Kettler, Dave Hilgendorf, Harold “Bub” Ready, Craig LaShelle, Paul Heun, and Derek Ready. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the service hour at the funeral home. Military will be conducted by the Clinton AMVETS.
James Edward Bryden was born March 24, 1952 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Edward and Lois (Lass) Bryden. He was a 1970 graduate of Clinton High School. He served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1973. He married his wife Jan Gillen on September 7, 2013. They had been together since 1990.
Jim worked for the Local #790 Carpenters Union in Rock Falls, Illinois. He was an avid fisherman and Chicago Cubs fan.
Jim is survived by his wife Jan Gillen-Bryden of Clinton; three daughters: Jessica (Matt) Kuhnau of Muskego, Wisconsin; Jasinda Bryden of Carlsbad, California; and Sonia Gillen of Moline, Illinois; three grandchildren: Hayden and Hadley Kuhnau and Clara Wosser; two sisters: Sue (Harold “Bub”) Ready and Nancy (Paul) Heun; his best friend Rick Kowzic; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ALS Association or the Iowa City VA Hospital.
