Jacob A. Mathiesen's Obituary
Jacob A. Mathiesen, 33, of Clinton passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at his home due to an accidental drug overdose.
Private family services are being planned at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory and a public celebration of life will be July 24, 2021 at Vista Grande from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting his obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Jacob Allen Mathiesen was born June 4, 1987 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Terry and Wendy (Hiltner) Mathiesen. He attended Clinton Community Schools. He was a self-taught musician who played multiple instruments and enjoyed composing, singing and performing. He enjoyed reading, writing, cooking and spending time with his bulldog, Reggie. Above all things Jake loved time spent with his son Jameson, who was the greatest joy in his life.
He will be dearly missed by his parents: Wendy (Jerry) Saddoris of Clinton and Terry (Lisa) Mathiesen of Anamosa, Iowa; son: Jameson Mathiesen and his mother Christine Givens; sister: Jennifer (Noah Meeker) Mathiesen of Anamosa, Iowa; step-siblings: Kimberly Saddoris of Des Moines, Iowa, Kevin Saddoris of Clinton and Kyle Saddoris of Des Moines, Iowa; and nieces and nephew: Madyson, Vivian, Emmett and Demi. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Memorial may be made to the family to be put in trust for his son, Jameson, the Clinton Humane Society or Pathways Living Center.
