Jackie R. Simpkins' Obituary
Jackie R. Simpkins, 81, of Clinton, went to be with Jesus, Monday, October 14, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family. He fought a long courageous battle with dementia with a great sense of humor and the love & care of his wife of 60 yrs.

Jackie Ray Simpkins was born June 10, 1943 in West Virginia, the son of Glen and Alta (Bingham) Simpkins. He married Elah Carver on July 18, 1964 in Tazewell, Virginia. He was a proud Iron Worker, of Union Local 111, for 45 years. Some of his hobbies over the years were hunting, fixing things, woodworking and fishing. After retiring he always found stuff to do and kept busy. He always worked hard, enjoyed life
and was always kind. He was a 'Jack of all trades' and will be remembered by many as a 'Mans Man'. He loved to joke, had a great sense of humor and was always trying to make you laugh up to the last month. He was a great provider and loved his wife, daughter, grandkids, & great-grandkids more than anything. He enjoyed time spent with them especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed everyday by his wife Elah Simpkins of Clinton; one daughter: Sandy (Brent) Galbraith of Clinton; grandchildren: Jacob Partin, Clinton, Jackie (Ryan) Palmer, Clinton, Jesse Gailbraith Clinton, and Justin Thoms (estranged), Fulton; great grandchildren: Adalynne, Asher and Anakin Palmer, Bryson Huizenga and Brooklyn Thoms; siblings: Gene Simpkins, Patricia Carver, Don Simpkins, Judy Scribner, Brenda (Dave) Moore, Cissy Lambert and P-Nut Musick, and two special friends who visited regularly: Don Goodridge and Jeff King.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, stepdad, Clayton Musick and two sisters: Betty Bingham and Louise Crigger.
Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard but always near. Still loved, missed and very dear. Love you DaddiO.
