Jack D. Utroska's Obituary
Jack D. Utroska, 88, of Clinton passed away surrounded by his family on May 2, 2021 at his home in Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Jack Dean Utroska was born February 19, 1933 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Harry and Eleanor (Reed) Utroska. He was a 1951 graduate of Clinton High School. He served in the United State Air Force from 1952-1956. Jack married Barbara Swanson on July 19, 1953 in Clinton, Iowa.
Jack worked as a production supervisor for DuPont for 43 years; retiring in 1992. He attended the Community Congregational Church in Clinton. He was an avid golfer and hunter, coached little league and pony league for many years and was a board member for DuPont Employee Credit Union. He enjoyed playing cards but mostly he loved time spent with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his wife Barbara Utroska of Clinton; two daughters: Jane (John) Lawler of DeWitt, Iowa and Kathy (Steve) Thornton of Fairfield, Iowa; four grandchildren: Eric (Emily) Thornton of Wilton, Iowa, Mark (Amber) Thornton of Fairfield, Iowa, Hanna (Dan) Willmer of Verona, Wisconsin and Ian (Nikki) Lawler of Carpinteria, California; and eight great grandchildren: Chloe, Connor, Colin, Luke, Lauren, Sam, Eli and Malachi. He was preceded in death by his parents.
