Jack E. Ramser's Obituary
Jack E. Ramser, 83, of Muscatine, passed way, Saturday, February 10, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am to the service time Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at Snell Zornig. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Ramser, Joseph Ramser, Jon Schneeberger, Jesse Schneeberger, Jason Jensen, and Wyatt Young.
Jack Ehrhardt Ramser was born on July 20, 1940 in Bellevue, Iowa the son of Oscar and Minnabelle (Ehrhardt) Ramser. He was a 1957 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Sandra K. Eberle on November 1, 1969 in Clinton.
Jack was employed with Clinton Corn/ADM for 28 years before moving to Muscatine to work for Grain Processing Corporation for 18 years retiring as the feed and wet milling superintendent in 2006. Jack was a brilliant man in his field, to the extent that he holds a patent for a method to unload railcars. He was also a sought after consultant on corn dryers and construction of ethanol plants, working well into his eighties.
Jack enjoyed traveling, boating, fishing, tending to his yard and garden, and being with his family. He was a handyman and could fix or make anything and was always happy to help anyone in need. You never had to guess where you stood with Jack, as he always told you how he felt. Sometimes good, and sometimes bad.
He was a member of the Global Methodist Church in Muscatine and traveled on several missionary trips to Mexico.
Jack is survived by his wife: Sandra of Muscatine, his children: Laura Kramer of Stanwood, Jack A. Ramser of Joliet, Illinois, Dena (Jon) Schneeberger of Eastman, Wisconsin, Joseph Ramser of Clinton, Mike (Lisa) Ramser of Muscatine, Leigh (Eric) Young of Tempe, Arizona, and Suzanne (Jason) Jensen of Phoenix, Arizona; eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, and his mother and father-in-law: Arlene and Thomas Eberle.
Memorials can be made to the Amercian Cancer Society or Unity Point Hospice.
