Jack Mills' Obituary
Jack J. Mills, 90, of Albany, IL passed away Tuesday September 21, 2010 at his home. According to his wishes there will be no visitation. Private services and internment at the Rock Island Arsenal will be at a later date. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is handling the arrangements. Jack was born September 19, 1920 in Muscatine, Iowa, to Osborn and Emma Mills. He married Betty Dauphin on January 2, 1949 in Savanna, Illinois. He was a graduate of Muscatine Junior College, a veteran of WWII, and a partner in Western Auto in Savanna and Mt. Carroll. He retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections in. He is survived by his wife, Betty, daughters Jacqueline (Kevin) Hersey of St. Charles, Il., Deborah Hersey of Leclaire, IA., Dale Ernst of Port Byron, Il., and a son Jeffrey (Denette) Mills of Eldridge, IA., four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
