Jack B Kopenga's Obituary
Jack B. Kopenga, 81, of Clinton, passed away, Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Mercy North, Clinton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 10:00Am until the service hour Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fulton Township Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bruce, Mark, Ryan and Pete Stremlow and Greg and Ben Hardy.

Jack was born February 5, 1933 in Fulton, Illinois, the son of Peter and Ida (Holling) Kopenga. He was a 1952 graduate of Fulton High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1960 during the Korean War and the Beirut, Lebanon crisis. He earned the National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal and the China Service Medal.
Jack was employed in the housekeeping department at the former Jane Lamb Hospital for 38 years, he retired in 2002. Jack enjoyed collecting US stamps.
He is survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
