Jack A. Byers' Obituary
Jack A. Byers, 86, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the Alverno.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be JyShon Harris, Jalen Jones, Cartise Jones, and Charlie Young. Visitation will be from 10:00am to the service time at the funeral home on Tuesday.
Jack A. Byers was born on December 26, 1934, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of William and Hilda (Holst) Byers. He was a 1954 graduate of Clinton High School. He later served in the United States Army from 1957-1959. He married Gloria Breitbach on January 12, 1980 in Clinton.
Jack was a construction worker for the International Union #43 for many years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed motorcycling, working on his house and spending time with his family.
Jack is survived by his wife: Gloria of Clinton; three daughters: Shelle Harris of Clinton, Rebecca (Mike) Powlistha of Clinton, and Julie (Greg) Young of Moline; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter: Joy Lynn Byers and his brother. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
