Irene Johnson, 96, of Clinton, IA, died Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center - North Campus in Clinton, IA. Services will be held at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig on Friday, January 2, 2009 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Johnson, Brian, Dale and Arnie Fenzel and Glen and Marty Wislef.
She was born on Friday, August 2, 1912, in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of Ernie and Inez (Dawson) Hosette. She married Robert Johnson in 1952 in Clinton, Iowa; he died in 1993. She was a homemaker. She had also been employed the Rich Toy Factory and as a painter at Climax.
Survivors include her: daughters, Donna Jordan and Inez Fenzel both of Clinton, her son, Bob Johnson of Clinton, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren and her brother, Jack (Sadie) Hosette of Clinton, IA. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, son, Jack Jacobsen, 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Memorials may be made to the family.
