Irene Hlubek's Obituary
Irene M. Hlubek, 96, of Clinton, died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the Alverno Health Care Facility. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11:00am, Friday, July 9, 2010 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be John Hlubek, Steven Murphy, Dennis Hart, Keith Finkle, Joseph Hlubek, D.J. Hlubek, and Casey Hlubek. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the rest of her grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00am to the service time at the church. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Irene Malli was born on January 29, 1914 in Lansing, Iowa the daughter of James and Matilda (Andersen) Malli. She married Joseph Hlubek on October 4, 1932 in Decorah, Iowa; he later died April 27, 1990. Irene was a homemaker and was a member of Prince of Peace Parish. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. Irene is survived by three daughters: Mercedes (James) Murphy of Clinton, Karen (Gary) Hart of Clinton, Gretchen (John, Sr.) Finkle of St. Augustine, Florida; four sons: John (Ruth) Hlubek of DeWitt, Donald Hlubek of Clinton, James (Barb) Hlubek of Fulton, and Joseph (Gail) Hlubek of Clinton; 31 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson, three sisters, and seven brothers. Memorials can be made to the Alverno Nursing Home.
