So sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad and husband. My thoughts and prayers go out to all.
I remember Uncle Ira for being a busy man. Passionate about the people and things he cared about. He seemed to always be doing something. He gave me my first bicycle. We came to visit and he went out to the curb to get a bike with a broken frame. He took it in his garage and welded the frame back together. He took me fishing on his boat. He bought me a YMCA membership for several yrs. There I had a place to go and learn and share in activities. He came to help me when my car broke down in another state. He welcomed me into his home and invited me to stay many times. I can't remember a time when he wasn't busy doing something. Working on a house,or fixing a vehicle, or working on a garden. We would play pool on the pool table in the basement, or pinball upstairs in the old house. In later yrs the new house was the sight of many cookouts and gatherings.
My consolences to the family on the loss of Ira. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Uncle Ira was a wonderful uncle. He was always there to help out our family whenever we needed something. Every time we came back to Iowa he always wanted to know what we had been doing, and to have us over for a meal and to sleep over if we needed a place to stay. He took me on my first fishing trip in a boat when I caught my first blue gill. We always loved to go to his house as kids and play pool on their big pool table. I will miss him very much, he just always seemed to be there. He lived a good life and has left a good posterity to carry on in his absence. We will always treasure our memories of you, Uncle Ira, love the Lance Tyler Family
