1922 - 2007 Iola Mae Jewell, 85, of Clinton, IA, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the Harmony House in Clinton, IA. Services will be held at the New Hope Lutheran Church on Friday, November 2, 2007 at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be held at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, November 1, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jed Jewell, Dana Jewell,
Jason Leu, Rodney Jewell, Don Jewell and Jody Jewell. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Jewell, Mark Nelson and Wayne Kubert. Iola was born August 12, 1922 in Bethany, MO, the daughter of Joe and Mayme (Geyer) Kubert. She was a 1940 graduate of Baldwin Iowa High School. She married Howard Jewell on June 4, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa. Iola was a Homemaker and had been employed at Clinton Corn Processing and the Old Mill Ice Cream Parlor. She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church and the former Lutheran Church of Atonement. Survivors include her husband Howard, of Clinton; 3 sons, Donald Ray (Barbara) Jewell of Clinton, IA; Rodney Lee (La Sene) Jewell of Clinton, IA and Jody James (Carol) Jewell of Clinton, IA; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and her sister, Verda Erdene Cox of Clinton, IA. Iola was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John Wencil Kubert and Cecil Wayne Kubert. Memorials may be made to the family for a charity of their choice.
