Ila Bergeson's Obituary
Ila M. Bergeson, 98, of Camanche, died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the Alverno. Memorial Services will be 11:00am, Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. The family will greet friends from 10:00am to the service time Saturday at the funeral home. Ila Mae Cushing was born on May 7, 1914 in Harlan, Iowa, the daughter of Clinton and Laura (Meiers) Cushing. She married Leonard Bergeson on September 6, 1941 in Clinton; he later died in May 1974. Ila was a graduate of Swea City High School. She was employed at Nielsen’s Clearing House in Clinton for 10 years. Ila was a member of Chancy Lutheran Church, volunteered at the Camanche Meal Site, and was a past member of the Moose and Eagles. She enjoyed playing cards and enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs. Ila is survived by two daughters: Connie (Larry) McDonald of Camanche, Lynn Ann (Kenneth) Rempfer of Springfield, IL; six grandchildren: Mark McDonald of Camanche, Marty McDonald of Center Point, Iowa, Jodi (Michael) Beck of Center Point, IA, Ryan (Sue) Rempfer of Springfield, Matt (Elissa) Rempfer of LaGrange, IL Sam (Tarra) Rempfer of Williamsburg, Virginia; and six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Nina Randa of Cylinder, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. Ila was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers. Memorials can be made to the family.
