Ida Giebelstein's Obituary
Ida Giebelstein, 71, of Clinton passed away, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at her home – Clinton.
A Memorial Service will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory.
Ida MacCrimmon was born March 20, 1946 in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of Neil and Ida (Forbes) MacCrimmon. She married Denny Giebelstein on August 27, 1982. She attended Primary and Secondary School in Scotland before moving to the United States in 1974.
Ida worked as a book keeper at First National Bank for 20 years and then worked for Don’s Jewelry as a sales Clerk for 24 years. She enjoyed camping and was an avid fisherman, she was known for catching the biggest bass in the Pool 14 and could out fish most anyone. She enjoyed fishing in many bass tournaments with her husband and he always presented her with a rose on tournament days.
Ida will be dearly missed by her husband Denny Giebelstein of Clinton; two children: Karen Johnson of Le Claire, Iowa and Paul Finn of Jacksonville, Florida; four grandchildren: Nate and Connor Johnson and Ian and Myles Finn; three brothers: Neil MacCrimmon of Glasgow, Scotland, Alan MacCrimmon of Hamilton, Canada and John MacCrimmon of Glasgow, Scotland; brother-in-law: Dave (Edith) Giebelstein of Clinton, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother.
Memorials may be made to the family.
