Hilton “Tony” J. Monroe, 91, of Camanche, passed away, Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Park Vista – Camanche.
Per Tony’s wishes there will be no services or visitation. The Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Hilton John Monroe was born on October 1, 1928, the son of Henry and Alma (Kreul) Monore. He was a 1947 graduate of Fennimore High School. He later enlisted in the United States Army serving from 1947-1950, and mostly in the Philippines. He married Phyllis Carroll on March 29, 1958 in Fulton.
Tony was employed at ALCOA for over 25 years in maintenance. He was an over 50 year member of the Camanche Masonic Lodge, Clinton Shrine Club and played in the Shriner Oriental Band, and Clinton Scottish Rite Bodies.
Tony is survived by his wife: Phyllis of Camanche; his step-children: James Reistroffer, Scott Lund of Camanche, and Debra Ell of Clinton; 4 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren; and his sister: Elaine Leff of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters: Michelle & Sherry, two brothers, and one sister.
