Henry L. “Hank” Dihlmann of 301 N.11th Street died at the age of 100 on March 25, in La Crosse, WI. He was buried on March 30 in a private graveside service at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. The family plans to hold a celebration of Hank’ Read Obituary
On a hot summer day in the mid-1970s, Hank offered me my first job in broadcasting. He was a perfect boss for a recent college graduate. His life was a window into another era when a local radio station was the heart and soul of a community.
Hank was a very wonderful man. My father Maurie Holdgrafer was one of his golfing partners for many years. They always checked on each other. So sorry for your loss!
Hank was always a true professional in broadcasting. A legend in his profession. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

My deepest sympathy to Hank's "girls" He loved all of you. I lost a long time friend,golfing buddy and 19th hole kabbitser. Hank lived a very long and productive life. His stories on the war and sports were mezmerizing and thoughtful. He will be missed greatly. Please contact me when the memorial service is planned.

I am sorry to not be able to attend Hank's service and I will miss seeing his daughters. My memories of Peggy, Sally, and Nancy go back to the late '60's in Mason City visiting at Great Grandma and Grandpa Dihlmann's house. I felt a personal connection to Hank from the late '80's when he sent me a packet of Dihlmann Genealogy information he had received from Germany. I was able to get it translated, sent back to him and then used it to continue my Ancestry work on the Dihlmann Family Tree. He led a good, long life and those family members who knew him marveled at his independence well into his late '90's.
Remember Mr. Dihlmann’s voice on the radio KROS as a very young girl. I had the pleasure of meeting him awhile ago and telling him. He smiled and told me his story of being on the radio. My sympathy to his family. A very long life he got to to live.
