Henrietta Kooi's Obituary
Henrietta Kooi, age 82, of Clinton, died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Mercy
Medical Center North of heart-related issues. A private family memorial will be
held at Snell-Zornig Funeral Home in Clinton.
Henrietta Andresen was born June 5, 1930, in Charlotte, Iowa, the daughter of
Edward and Marie Andresen.
She loved watching the squirrels play in the back yard and watching the
hummingbirds stake out their territories every spring. She had a garden every
year. Her flowers bloomed profusely: inside there were many African violets and
Christmas cacti, outside were her annual flowers. Other pastimes included
playing cards and crocheting lovely afghans of various sizes.
Henrietta was the former owner of Milady's Beauty Shop on Second Street in
Clinton. On August 6, 1950, she married W. James Kooi at Elvira Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband and daughters Sheryl Abegglen of De Pere, WI;
and Rebecca Howle, of Casper, WY; and son Lawrence Kooi of Las Vegas, NV; her
sister, Catherine Thomsen, and several nieces and nephews. She had 11
grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.
