Hazel Whitmer's Obituary
Hazel Girene Whitmer “NieNie” of Clinton born September 25, 1923 passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center 95 years young. Preceded in death by an infant sister Lucretia, mother and father Paul and Girene McGrath of Clinton.
She leave loving husband and best friend Harold L. Whitmer “Hal”, a daughter Patriia Jo Mullen – Welliever, Hal's daughter Lisa Whitmer, 2 grandchildren Denyse Jeanville and Jarrod Meurs, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Hazel was a woman ahead of her time, she was thru the glass ceiling before she realized there was one.
She was a dance instructor at Aurthur Murray Dance Studios, a GE instructor, sold real estate and owned and operated her own beauty shop. Hazel won numerous awards at cat show, blue ribbons for her top shelf homemade wine.
She had the ability and motivation to do anything leading her to a US patent in the 70s with husband and friend.
Hazel was a true role model and always there when we needed her. Grandma could two step, waltz, shuffle ball chain or sip of wine we take will think of you and thank you for dancing and singing with us all our life and now in our hearts forever.
