Harriet E. Nielsen's Obituary
Harriet Ellen Roggendorf (Wolf) Nielsen, 96, of Clinton, passed away, Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Big Meadows Nursing Home – Savanna, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00am on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 with Funeral Services starting at 11:00 AM at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Lower York Cemetery – Thomson, Illinois. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe VanGundy, Robert Hartz, Jason Chase, Lindey Anderson, Will Libbey and Samuel Chase.
Harriet Ellen Roggendorf was born on December 18, 1924 in Thomson, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Viola (Falls) Roggendorf. She was a 1943 graduate of Thomson High School. She married Tom Wolf on October 23, 1948 in Clinton; he died November 22, 1987; she later married Kenneth Nielsen in August 1993; he died January 2003.
Harriet was a homemaker. She was a member of the AMVETS Auxiliary, and a den mother and helped with girl scouts. She enjoyed being with her friends and family and was loved by all she touched.
Harriet is survived by her son: Tom (Laurie) Wolf of Clinton, her daughter: Holle (Joe) VanGundy of Plano, Illinois; step-son: Terry ( Marcia) Nielsen of Clinton, Paul Anderson (Number 2); two granddaughters: Karey Chase (Jason) and Lindey Anderson (Will); two great-grandchildren: Savannah and Samuel Chase, and four step-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her sister: Bonnie.
Memorials can be made to Big Meadows Nursing Home. The family is forever grateful for the care they gave Harriet and her family during her time there.
