Harold H. Striley's Obituary
Harold H. Striley, 73, of Camanche passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2021 at MercyOne in Clinton, surrounded by family and the love of his life, Pat.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors being rendered by the United States Navy. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Vroman, Lucas Lauer, Joseph Striley, Christopher Striley, Cody Pritchard and Nathaniel Davis. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Camanche Snell-Zornig funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting his obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Harold Howard Striley was born July 14, 1948 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of George E. and Pearl L. (Anderson) Striley. He was a 1967 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Patricia Treakle on March 30, 1968 in Camanche, Iowa.
Harold made a career out of his service in the United States Navy. He served for 21 years as a Navy Corpsman, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. His service included numerous duty stations across the nation and around the world, including many deployments that included service in the war in Vietnam.
Harold is survived by his four sons: Tim (Karen) Striley of Camanche, Tom (Susan) Striley of Erie, Illinois, Ted (Angelica) Striley of Oshkosh, Wisconsin and Todd (Shaylen) Striley of Clinton, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister: Frances Winters of Boonville, Missouri; three brothers: Kenny (Joyce) Striley of Clinton, Iowa, Keith Striley of Des Moines, Iowa and Darold Striley of Clinton, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Stanley Striley.
