Harold L. Cady's Obituary
Harold L. Cady, 84, of Clinton passed away Monday, April 8, 2024 at MercyOne - Clinton.
Private graveside services will take place at Springdale Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons. Celebration of Life will be at the AMVETS Club on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
Harold Lloyd Cady was born August 19, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Harold L. and Ena (Point) Cady, Sr. He was a 1957 graduate of Clinton High School and continued to enjoy his classmates at their monthly lunch. He served in the United States Army from 1958-1961, primarily in Germany. He married Janice Huizenga on June 29, 1962 in Erie, Illinois. In 1973, he earned a bachelor's degree from St. Ambrose and a master’s degree in 1988.
He worked at Chemplex/Lyondell for 31 years, retiring in 1999. After retirement he owned and operated All Event Videos. He was a member of the Clinton AMVETS club and volunteered time at the Clinton County Historical Society. He was a devoted supporter of his grandchildren’s activities. He looked forward to the annual Point family reunion, attending Riverboat Days, and cruising in his convertible or on his motorcycle.
Harold is survived by his wife Janice of Clinton; four children: James (Marcia) Cady, Susan (Paul) Determan, Sarah (Brad) Nolan all of Clinton, and Sandy (Chad) Huizenga of Fulton, Illinois; nine grandchildren: Katie (Jordan), Jake (Megha), Emily (Drew), Cody, Connor, Mackenzie, Nathan, Tristen and Gwendolyn; five great grandchildren; and one brother William (Barb) Titus of Arnold, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his mother- and father-in-law: Jake and Janet Huizenga; two sisters: Sherrill Parsons and Ruth Dau and one brother Mark Cady.
