Harlan L. Baker's Obituary
Harlan L. Baker, 87, of Clinton passed away Monday, August 25, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Aiden White, Lance White, Matt Wright, Ryne Schubert, Ken Cornwell and Shawn Eickert. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service time at the funeral home.
Harlan Lee Baker was born November 19, 1937 in Fulton, Illinois, the son of Bernard and Mae (Pannell) Baker. He attended Fulton Community Schools. He married Lorraine Sparlin on October 27, 1957 in Clinton; she preceded him in death on August 9, 2016.
Harlan worked as a Maintenance Foreman at Champion Dairy Pak for over 45 years; retiring in 1999. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was very handy and enjoyed working on his home.
He is survived by his two daughters: Susie (Keith) Schubert of Clinton and Teresa (Robert) Wright of Clinton; grandchildren: Rebecca (Lance) White, Ryne Schubert and Matthew (Dawn) Wright; great grandchildren: Aiden White and Lila and Blair Wright; siblings: Bonnie (Bob) Holt of Moline, Illinois, Noreen Howard of Albany, Illinois; Sheila (Don) Franzen of Fulton and Ron (Bonnie Hansen) Baker; and many nieces and nephews. Harlan was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers Larry and Kevin and sister Jeanne.
