Glenn Griffin's Obituary
Glenn A. Griffin, 82, of Clinton, died Friday, February 17, 2012, at the Alverno Nursing Home, Clinton. Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche, with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post#28. Visitation will be from 10:00am to the service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Glenn Alison Griffin was born on April 3, 1929 in Bismarck, North Dakota the son of Oliver and Mina (Fladeland) Griffin. He married Catherine Allesee on March 3, 1959 in Sesseton, South Dakota; she died February 26, 2010. Glenn was a 1947 graduate of Audubon High School in Audubon, Minnesota. Glenn served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and the Korean Conflict. Glenn was a Chief Machinist Mate in the United States Navy for 20 years and E.I. Dupont for 17 years. Glenn was a member of the Camanche VFW, Camanche American Legion, Clinton Moose Lodge, and the Clinton AMVETS. He enjoyed collecting coins. Glenn is survived by a son: Robin (Joyce) Griffin of Tacoma, Washington; a step-son: Charles (Julie) Allesee of Clinton, Iowa; and a step-daughter: Judy (Mike) Gray of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; 5 step-grandchildren 11 step greatgrandchildren; two sisters: Lola Rehder and JoAnn Lamb of Minnesota; and one brother: Verl Griffin of Minnesota. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers, and three sisters. Memorial may be made to Alverno Nursing Home, the Clinton Church of Christ or the Clinton AMVETS.
