Gladys F. Jacobsen, 94, of Clinton, Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Prairie Hills – Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Ascension Lutheran Church – Goose Lake Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery, serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9:30am to the service time at the church. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Gladys Frieda Schult was born on August 18, 1927 in New Liberty, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Elsie (Heuer) Schult. She married Alvin Jacobsen on December 15, 1946 in Davenport; he passed away August 25, 2012.
Gladys helped her husband on the farm as well as worked at the Clinton Garment Factory and at the store in Plainview, Iowa. She was a charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Goose Lake where she served on the church council, taught Sunday School, and enjoyed quilting with the lades. She was an accomplished accordion player, loved to travel, and enjoyed tending to her garden.
Gladys is survived by one daughter: Karen (Jim) Bruhn of Ely, Iowa; four sons: Dennis Jacobsen of Stanwood, Iowa, David (Tammy) Jacobsen of Clinton, Iowa, Mark (Peg) Jacobsen of Clinton, Iowa, and Loran (Teresa) Jacobsen of Goose Lake, Iowa; six grandchildren: Karlynn Miller, Stacy Waddell, Aaron Schaefer, Caley Jacobsen, Lee Jacobsen, and Matthew Jacobsen, seven great-grandchildren. She was also the god mother of John Crow, Diane (Harvey) Marten, and Joel Schult. In addition to her husband Alvin she was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter: Joyce, a grandson: Andrew Jacobsen, four brothers and a sister.
The family requests that memorials be made to Ascension Lutheran Church or St. Croix Hospice.
