Gerhardt A Jensen's Obituary
Gerhardt A. Jensen, 94, of Clinton, passed away, Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Alverno.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be John Goos, Pete Lamp, Larry McElroy, John McElroy, Reginald Reppert, Ken Rickertsen, Russell Steen, and Russ Wiebers. Visitation will be from 9:30am to the service time Thursday at the church. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Gerhardt Arnold Jensen was born on September 17, 1920 in Charlotte, Iowa the son of Berhardt and Matilda (Goettsch) Jensen. He attended Charlotte Schools. He married Dorothy Bruhn on November 26, 1944 in Clinton; she died November 17, 1989.
Gerhardt was a machine operator at DuPont for 351/2 years retiring in 1982. After retiring from DuPont he worked at Snell-Zornig Funeral Home as a funeral assistant for 17 years.
Gerhardt was an active member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church and the Clinton Moose Club. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, and watching the Chicago Cubs.
Gerhardt is survived by his son: Dennis Jensen of Davenport, Iowa, his daughter: Mary (Steve) Cracker of Davenport; two granddaughters: Erin Cracker and Emily (Chris Griffith) Cracker; several nieces and nephews, and his special friend: Arlene McElory of Camanche. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, and one sister.
Memorials can be made to Saint Paul Lutheran Church.
