Geraldine Petersen's Obituary
Geraldine D. “Jerry” Petersen, 90, of Clinton, died Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Alverno Nursing Home.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory with Pastor Bobb Barrick officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Albert Perreault, Tom Junginger, Josh Andrews, Tony Petersen, Darrell Hansen and Dave Hansen. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the funeral home.
Geraldine Dolly Petersen was born on February 27, 1918, to Leopold and Hannah (Krumviede) Hansen. She married Arthur Petersen on August 31, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa.
Jerry was a 1936 graduate of Lyons High School. She was a homemaker and also worked at the Clinton Garment Factory in her early years.
Jerry was a member of the Lyons United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Martha Circle. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and sewing. She was lovingly devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. Jerry is survived by her husband; Arthur “Stu” of Clinton; one son: William Petersen of Clinton; three daughters: Donna (Jim) Bingham of Las Vegas, NV, Carole (Tom) Junginger of Dubuque, IA, and Roberta (Albert) Perreault of Blue Grass, IA; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister, and a granddaughter.
