Gerald "Jay" Holm's Obituary
Gerald “Jay” Holm, 57, of Clinton formerly of Camanche passed away Saturday November 10, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center – Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Dave Reher, Ryan Bolton, Jay Stone, DJ Holm, Eric Larson and Dave Knight. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home – Camanche. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting his obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Gerald Jay Holm was born June 20, 1961 in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Gerald John and Dorothy Ann (Pruett). He was a 1980 graduate of Camanche High School and married Jane Reher on June 21, 1980 in Low Moor, Iowa; they later divorced but remained lifelong companions.
Jay worked for Midwest Utility Trenching Service for 26 years. He was a hard worker, enjoyed fishing and hunting and tinkering in the garage. Most of all he enjoyed time spent with his family especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his lifelong partner Jane Holm of Clinton; three children: Ada (Travis) Lamberton of Camanche, Katherine (Chisum) Bolton of Mesa, Arizona and Donald “DJ” Holm of Clinton; grandchildren: Seanna, Jessyka, Leann, Blake, Carsyn, Olivia, Hayden and Chisum Jr.; four siblings: Denise Knight of Clinton, Amy (Paul Rumbo of Lindale, Texas, Tom Holm of Camanche and Karen Brooks of Camanche; and many nieces and nephews.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law Donna Reher and brother-in-law James Knight.
