Gerald Guemmer's Obituary
Gerald F. Guemmer, 64, of Clinton, died Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus. Visitation will be held at Community Reformed Church at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. Gerald F. Guemmer was born October 9, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to Dr. Gerald and Wanda (Wojniak) Guemmer. He attended Forest Road School and Lyons Township High School. Jerry "Jay" served 4 years in the Air Force. He worked in the electronics field, including RJS Electronics in Clinton. Jay loved to tinker with and fix things. He liked to fish and was a Civil War enthusiast. Jay is survived by his mother Wanda Guemmer, LaGrange, Illinois; two brothers, Frank (Joanne) Guemmer, Wausau, Wisconsin; Rick (Laureen) Guemmer, Clinton; and one sister Suzi (George) Horn, Naperville, Illinois. He is also survived by three nephews, Jonathan Guemmer and Geoff and Patrick Horn, and three nieces, Emily Guemmer (Casey Turner) and Katie and Alli Horn. Jay was preceded in death by his father. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Community Reformed Church.
