Georgia A. Koranda's Obituary
Georgia A. Koranda, 85, of Camanche passed away, Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at the Alverno.
Per Georgia’s wishes there will be no visitation or service; a private family burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Georgia Ann Campie was born on August 22, 1940 in Camanche the daughter of Paul and Belva (Flack) Campie. She was a 1958 graduate of Clinton High School. She married Eugene “Gene” Koranda on November 29, 1961; he passed away on March 23, 2022.
Georgia worked at Wyndcrest Nursing Home as a beautician and activities coordinator; and later for Sanitol Services. She enjoyed crocheting, needlework, playing bingo, reading and watching old Westerns. Her last years were spent at Addington Place where she had many friends and acted as secretary for the residents board.
Georgia is survived by her three sons: Richard Koranda of Davenport, Iowa, Daniel (Sherri Zirbes) Koranda of Clinton, Iowa, and David (Coleen) Koranda of Davenport; eight grandchildren: James Alderson, Andrea Vath, Stephanie Koranda, Erica Capron, Nicholas Koranda, Jessica Koranda, Katelyn Howell, and Isabella Jordan; and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staffs of Milestones Area on Aging, The Addington Place, and the Doctors and nurses of the Alverno and Compassus Hospice.
