Gene A. "Whitey" Carstensen's Obituary
Gene A. Carstensen, 80, of Clinton, died Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the Alverno, Clinton. Services will be held 12:00PM, Noon, Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until the service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service.
Gene was born October 19, 1935 in Clinton, the son of Arthur and Ruby (Campbell) Carstensen. He was a 1954 Clinton High School graduate. Gene served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. Gene married Wanda Gibson on March 13, 1965 in Morrison, Illinois.
He was employed as a machine operator at Central Steel and Waukesha Engines for many years.
Gene was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #363 and the AMVETS. He was an avid Cubs fan, was a bowler for many years and enjoyed fishing, especially fishing for Bullheads.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda of Clinton; daughters, Carey (Ron) Everson of Clinton, Connie (Timothy) McLaughlin of Clinton and Sonda Randolph of Cedar Rapids; son, Daniel Randolph of Clinton; grandchildren, Natalie Kristensen, Audrey Everson, Wade Everson, Tavia Movida, Austin Everson, Tyler Everson and Katie McLaughlin and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
