Gealea J. Woods' Obituary
Gealea J. Woods, 85, of Fulton passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Alverno – Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Woods, Adam Ohsann, Eric Burden, Rocky Burden and Cameron Woods. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Gealea J. Fugate was born November 15, 1934 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne and Hazel (Stoll) Fugate. She attended and graduated from Clinton High School. She married Alfred Woods on May 25, 1956 in Clinton.
She worked for Nielsen’s Clearing House, Clinton Printing, Swiss Colony and at the Clinton Herald. Gealea was hard working and enjoyed volunteering. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mercy Auxiliary and Clinton RSVP. She was also active with the Clinton VFW Club Woman’s Auxiliary and Wa-Tan-Ye Club.
Gealea is survived by her son: Steven (Mick) Woods; two grandchildren: Erin (Adam) Ohsann of Camanche and James (Julie) Woods of Davenport; six grandchildren: Wyatt, Andersen, and Marik Ohsann and Cameron, Daniel and Isabella Woods; Mick’s children: Barb (Jason) Stoecker of Fulton, Rocky (Holly) Burden of Fulton, Eric (Mir) Burden of Fulton and their families; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and step-father James Carr.
Memorial may be made to First United Methodist Church, RSVP – Clinton or Camp Courageous.
