Gayla M. LaFleur's Obituary
Gayla M. LaFleur, 80, originally of Fulton, passed away, Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Big Meadows Nursing Home – Savanna, Illinois.
Funeral Services will be Noon, Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be Fulton Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30am to the service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Gayla Marlene Foster was born on November 16, 1945, in Morrison, Illinois, the daughter of George and Dorcas (Hook) Foster. She was a 1963 graduate of Fulton High School. She married Dwayne LaFleur on October 7, 1995, in Fulton; he passed away on June 9, 2016.
Gayla was a CNA at various nursing homes including the Alverno in Clinton and others in the Des Moines area.
She was a member of Norwoodville Baptist Church in Des Moines where she served together with her husband Dwayne. She enjoyed shopping and traveling.
Gayla is survived by her children: Timothy (Renee) LaFleur of Bondurant, Iowa, Ruth Violett of Urbandale, Thomas LaFleur of Slater, Iowa, Margaret LaFleur Wolfe of Des Moines, Iowa, and Rebecca (Randy) Horsman of Altoona, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren; a sister: Julie (Les) Dornbush of Fulton, and a brother: Irvin Foster of Savanna; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters: Kathelyn, Dellamae.
She will be missed by many; but her family is rejoicing that she is in the presence of her Savior Jesus Christ. The family extends their appreciation to the staff of Big Meadows for their care of Gayla.
