Gary L. Munck, 79, of Camanche, Iowa began his eternal life Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Eagle Point Health Care Center.
He will be laid to rest in the Elvira Cemetery. Snell-Zornig Funeral Home is assisting the family with the cremation and private graveside services will be held at Elvira Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting his obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Gary Lou Munck was born June 28, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Louis and Jane (Crone) Munck. He was united in marriage to Janet (Sodeman) on November 2, 1963 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Clinton, Iowa.
Gary farmed his entire life in the Elvira, Goose Lake and Low Moor area. He had also worked at Lord Baltimore and Clinton Corn Processing Co., sold John Deere Machinery for Meyers & Litwiller, and a Garst Seed Corn Salesman. He was a member of Clinton County Farm Bureau and Clinton Board of Realtors. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran religion and graduated Elvira High School.
For years he could be found at farm machinery auctions near and far. He was a pro at knowing what all the machinery values were.
His legacy continues with his wife Janet of Camanche; their four children: Todd (Annette) Munck of Clinton, Kevin Munck of Clinton, Jeannine (Lonny) Essex of Chicago and Curtis (Michelle) Munck of Clinton; six grandkids: Brent, Kelsey, Sam, Gabe, Jacob and Molly plus a great grandson Gio; siblings: Marie Perry, Larry (Sherri) Munck, Lonnie (Ron) Fell, Judy Olson, Jolee Witt, Gay (John) Smith, Laurie (Steve) Guidebeck, Nancy (Paul) Burke, and Jeff Munck; brother-in-law: Dan (Kathy) Donahue and Greg (Charlene) Munck; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patricia Donahue, nephew Blake Munck and brother-in-law Thomas Olson.
A special thank you to Eagle Point Health Care and Compassus Hospice for all the love and care they gave him.
In lieu of flowers Gary would want you to go to your favorite auction, buy something totally unneeded and come home and tell your family “No Big Deal”
