Gary L. Martindale, 72, of Clinton passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at the Alverno Health Care Center – Clinton.

Gary Lee Martindale was born January 14, 1948 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Leo and Lily May (Thomas) Martindale. He was a 1966 graduate of Clinton High School and served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1971. He was a Vietnam War veteran and an honorary Seabee. He married Cheri Lueders on December 19, 1969 in Clinton.
Gary worked for DuPont later known as Bemis for 25 years; retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Clinton and the Camanche American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, boating, spending time on the river and being with his family.
He will be dearly missed and is survived by his wife Cheri Martindale of Clinton; daughter Rebecca (Paul) Schmidt of Clinton; grandson Brady (Taylor White) Schmidt of Clinton; great grandson Cooper Schmidt; and one brother: Dennis (Priscilla) Martindale of Midlothian, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents.
