Gail Rock's Obituary
Gail H. Rock, 86, of Clinton, IA died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Clinton. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale, AZ, where additional services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Camp Verde, AZ. Pallbearers will be Jim Beaman, Nick Wisely, Dee Willoughby, Tim Clark, Earle Rock Jr. and John Lanxon.
Gail H. Rock was born on March 1, 1922 in Canby, MN, the son of Earle and Lena (Kelso) Rock. He married Geneva Bliss on December 20, 1942 in Canby, MN; she died on August 15, 2002. He was a farmer for many years, was employed with G.E., and ran a filling station in Phoenix, AZ. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clinton, and the United Methodist Church in Camp Verde, AZ.
He is survived by his children: Earle (Patti) Rock of Clinton, Patricia Schladt of Davenport, IA, Perry (Marcia) Rock of Bloomington, IL, Gail (Mary Ann) Rock, Curtis (Kathy) Rock, and Darrell (Sheila) Rock all of Phoenix, AZ; daughter-in-law Darlene Rock of Phoenix, AZ; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, 3 sisters: Kathleen Smith of Des Moines, IA, Eunice (Marshall) Ross of Erie, IL, and Pearl Chickett of Des Moines, IA, and one brother, Ellis (Geraldine) Rock of Why, AZ. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Paul M. Rock, his parents, 2 sisters and an infant brother.
Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church, Clinton or Clinton Genesis Hospice.
