Frederick N. Mitchell, III, 87, of Clinton, passed away, Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Eagle Point Nursing Home – Clinton.

Frederick Niles Mitchell, III was born on October 29, 1937 in Carbondale, Pennslyvania the son of Frederick and Bertine (Warner) Mitchell, II. He graduated from Carbondale Area High School and from Manetta College. He served in the United States Navy from 1959-1961. He married Janice Stralow on August 8, 2008 in Pidgeon Forge, Tennessee.
Mitch was a state patrolman for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania retiring in 1993.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He played in numerous baseball leagues into his senior years.
Mitch is survived by his wife: Janice of Clinton; his daughter: Michelle Paulnock of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania, daughter-in-law: Leah Mitchell of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, four grandchildren; two step-daughters: Lisa (Delbert) Cowan of Erie, Illinois, and JoEllen (Kevin) Riordan of Maniette, Wisconsin, and 17 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son; and two brothers.
